METIS advised the HOMAG Group, a member of the Dürr Group, on its investment in the Reutlingen-based software company granIT. The HOMAG Group is taking over 26 percent of the shares and thus strengthening its digital competence in the growth area of timber house construction. Among others, SchwörerHaus, one of the largest German prefabricated house manufacturers, is a co-shareholder.
granIT is a specialist for manufacturing execution systems for, among other things, prefabricated house production. Such manufacturing execution systems (MES) are used to optimize complex production processes and increase their efficiency. granIT has been an important partner of Weinmann Holzbausystemtechnik GmbH, a subsidiary of the HOMAG Group, for many years. Weinmann is the world market leader in machines and systems for timber house construction.
