METIS adds partners in Corporate and in Dispute Resolution / Compliance

Heinrich von Bünau and Florian Wettner join METIS

Heinrich von Bünau will join Frankfurt based boutique law firm METIS Rechtsanwälte LLP as a partner in the Corporate Group in June 2014. Von Bünau was a partner of the international law firm Mayer Brown LLP in its Frankfurt office. He has extensive experience in corporate and real estate transactions including the chemicals, pharmaceuticals and energy sectors advising companies like European aviation and defence company EADS (now Airbus), ITW, Becton Dickinson and Dow Chemical.

METIS’ Corporate Group has a strong M&A track record. The practice is focused on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. METIS also advises clients on Private Equity / Venture Capital investments and public offerings of equity as well as employment and compensation arrangements and dispute resolution.
METIS acted for Nasdaq listed ADTRAN, Inc. on an acquisition from Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) and UK market information provider ICIS / Reed Business on an acquisition in Germany. Its clients also include Merck, UBS, SEB and Pactiv.

Heinrich von Bünau is the second partner to join METIS this year. In March, METIS poached Florian Wettner from former Herbert Smith ally Gleiss Lutz to join its Dispute Resolution and Compliance Group. He has extensive experience in litigation involving capital markets, insurance and officers’ and directors’ liability disputes. He is also focused on Internal Investigations and Compliance which he practised in Herbert Smith’s London office and a German DAX company during secondments.
