Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has rubbished suggestions of a rift with Kevin De Bruyne, insisting he is “desperate” to have the playmaker back at his best. A number of prominent pundits, including former City defender and club ambassador Micah Richards, have questioned why the Belgium international has not been starting games amid the champions’ dramatic slump. City have not won in seven outings in all competitions – their worst run since 2008 – with De Bruyne featuring only as a substitute in the last five of those matches after recovering from a pelvic injury. Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Police have arrested five people including the son of a BJP leader for vandalising the vehicle service centre owned by Milind Mahajan, son of former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, an official said on Monday. One accused is still at large. Two employees of the service centre got injured in the incident. On Monday, hundreds of Mahajan’s supporters reached police commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh’s office and gave him a memorandum demanding strict action against the accused. The CP assured them that he had formed a special investigation team (SIT) under the supervision of DCP zone (1) Vinod Kumar Meena to investigate the case thoroughly and will present a strong charge sheet before the court so that all accused get strict punishment. Another accused, Mohit, works in place of his father in IMC. DCP Vinod Kumar Meena informed Free Press that the SIT will be led by ACP Ashish Patel and he will supervise it. He said police have added severe sections of rioting and extortion against the accused. The police have got their remand till December 14. DCP Meena further said that the altercation was over paying a service bill. The service centre’s bill was made for Rs 12,500 and the main accused Saurabh was willing to pay only Rs 10,000, leading to an argument. The accused allegedly tried to leave without paying the full amount. When the showroom staff attempted to stop him, Saurabh, along with his associates assaulted the employees and vandalized the premises. Initially, the police registered a case under minor sections. However, after video footage emerged and the case became politically sensitive, the police conducted a thorough investigation. On Sunday night, additional charges under Section 308(5) (extortion), Section 190 and Section 191(2) (rioting) were added. These charges are non-bailable and carry imprisonment up to 10 years. SIT to monitor case till chargesheet is filed: CP Commissioner of Police Santosh Kumar Singh said, "We are looking into the criminal records of all accused. They would be interrogated during their remand. The charges added are severe and non-bailable. The SIT will work till the chargesheet is filed. It will ensure that witnesses are present in court and scientific evidence, like video footage is used to secure convictions. If threats are made to the complainant, we will file another FIR against those responsible."

Ten years after “Interstellar” was given a film release as a special exception at time when its studio, Paramount, was committing to a digital future, film is not only back but driving audiences to theatres. “I was just so gratified by the response,” Nolan said in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press. “It’s really thrilling when people respond to your work at any point. But 10 years later, to have new audiences coming and experiencing it in the way that we’d originally intended it on the big IMAX screens and in particular on those IMAX film prints? It’s really rewarding to see that it continues to have a life.” How Nolan fought for film and the re-release “Interstellar” had been a labor of love, with Nolan fighting against the tides of a changing industry to use film, certain of its value. While filmmakers have long cherished film stock, “Oppenheimer” had studios, distributors and theatres taking note of the demand. The “Interstellar” release was fairly “low key” when it came to promotion, but it also didn’t need much — fans made sure of that. Before IMAX had even announced that tickets were on sale, some noticed that AMC had made them available. News spread on socials and overnight every 70mm IMAX showing at the Lincoln Square location in New York had sold out. It wasn’t just the “primetime” slots either: The 1 AM showtimes were at capacity too. After the weekend’s turnout surpassed expectations, they added more 70mm IMAX screenings through the week which also filled up quickly. While Nolan is in some ways an anomaly, as the rare filmmaker whose name alone can draw crowds for original fare, there are lessons to be learned from the weekend. “It just shows our industry once again that audiences truly understand the difference between a communal, big screen theatrical experience that they crave even on films that they’ve had the opportunities to see in the home,” Nolan said. “That theatrical experience that we all know and love is so powerful and so exciting. The watchdog's report Friday recommends they face an investigation under new U.K. digital rules taking effect next year. The Competition and Markets Authority took aim at Apple, saying the iPhone maker’s tactics hold back innovation by stopping rivals from giving users new features like faster webpage loading. The CMA’s report also found that Apple and Google manipulate the choices given to mobile phone users to make their own browsers “the clearest or easiest option.” Apple said it disagreed with the findings. Atlantic City casino earnings fall nearly 14% in 3rd quarter ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Atlantic City’s casinos saw their operating profits decline by nearly 14% in the third quarter of this year. New Jersey gambling regulators say the nine casinos had a collective gross operating profit of $236.5 million in the third quarter. That was down 13.8% from the third quarter of 2023. Every casino was profitable, but only two — Caesars and Hard Rock — saw their profits increase in the third quarter compared with a year ago. German auto supplier Bosch to cut 5,500 jobs in further sign of carmakers' woes FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Germany's technology and services company Bosch is cutting its automotive division workforce by as many as 5,500 jobs in the next several years, in another sign of the headwinds hitting the German and global auto industries. The company cited stagnating global auto sales, too much factory capacity in the auto industry compared to sales prospects and a slower than expected transition to electric-powered, software-controlled vehicles. Some 3,500 of the job reductions would come before the end of 2027 and would hit the part of the company that develops driver assistance and automated driving technologies. About half those job reductions would be at locations in Germany.
