The Seminoles (2-9) convincingly snapped a six-game losing streak and ensured that the Buccaneers (1-11) would finish theirs on a 10-game skid. Florida State has not had much to celebrate during one of its worst seasons in program history. But on Saturday, the Seminoles overcame a rough start and put together one of their more complete efforts of the season. Florida State had not scored more than 21 points in a game prior to Saturday's contest and its 175 rushing yards more than doubled its average (80.5 per game) this season. No single runner had over 40 yards, but seven rushers combined for that output on 34 attempts. The Seminoles entered the game ranked 130th out of 133 FBS teams in rushing offense. Holmes, a senior, finished with three carries for 38 yards, including touchdown runs of 3 and 18 yards. Kromenhoek gave Florida State a sliver of hope for its quarterback future as he completed 13 of 20 passes for 209 yards and no interceptions. He threw TD passes for Amaree Williams, Ja'Khi Douglas and Hykeem Williams. The highlight was a 71-yard touchdown pass to Douglas on the first play from scrimmage of the second half to put the Seminoles ahead 24-0. Douglas finished with 82 yards receiving on three catches, and 10 different Florida State players caught passes for 240 total yards. The Seminoles went 6 of 10 on third downs after averaging only a 25 percent conversion rate all season. Their defense held Charleston Southern to 275 total yards (57 rushing) and forced two turnovers. Florida State was unable to hang on to the shutout, however, as Bucs quarterback Kaleb Jackson found Landon Sauers for a 7-yard touchdown pass with 57 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Jackson completed 22 of 32 passes for 218 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The Bucs defense recorded three sacks led by Davion Williams, who had eight tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack. The Seminoles will conclude their season next Saturday at home against rival Florida. --Field Level MediaA closure order has been given to police for a property in Northfleet after a sustained programme of antisocial behaviour. Police say they have had complaints about incidents of criminal damage, threatening behaviour and intimidation, drug misuse, and noise. Yesterday (Friday), Kent Police applied for the closure order for the Lawrance Square address at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court. It will last for three months and any unauthorised person entering the property during this time, risks a fine and a prison sentence. Local officers ensured the local authority-owned property was empty and have now secured it. A sign has been placed on the door with a warning that it is an offence to enter. Police Sergeant Steve Cole said: "Residents and visitors to the area have suffered anti-social behaviour and incidents of disorder involving those using this premises for some time. They raised concerns with their local constables and council enforcement officers, who warned the occupants of the consequences if they continued. "Their behaviour failed to improve and we have now put in place prohibitive measures to address this." The closure order used legislation under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, and Gravesham Borough Council will be taking possession of the premises. Police Sergeant Cole added: "We work closely with the local authority to tackle disorderly behaviour that can affect the quality of life for residents. Any other people who choose to pursue an anti-social and often criminal lifestyle can expect similar consequences."

Copy 13/12/2024 10As the Orlando Pride prepare to take the pitch in the NWSL final, it's a full circle moment for Marta. The only remaining player from Orlando's previous playoff run in 2017, the Brazilian is playing in her first NWSL final ever with a chance to cement her legacy. But at 38 and being out of contract at the end of the season, there are questions about what's next for her. Earlier in the season, Marta hinted that this could be her final season in Orlando, and reflecting on the season with CBS Sports, the subject came up again. "It's been eight years here with Orlando, and it's the first time that we go to a final. It's a coincidence, but I don't know. It's some answer for me, for myself. Why am I still here," Marta said. "Why am I looking to build something special for this team? I don't know if I'm going to be here next year , but I'm already so happy with what I have given to the club and the players." A post shared by Attacking Third (@attackingthird) Marta reflected on how special this season has been for Orlando with the club setting records left and right. Marta became the oldest goal scorer and oldest outfield player in club history. Barbra Banda became the team's record scorer in all competitions for NWSL with 16 goals. They set a record for the biggest win in club history, the longest shutout streak in club history and so much more en route to winning the NWSL Shield while they now look to do the double. "No matter what happens in the final, this season for me and for the team has been the best season so far. Orlando never had played a consistent game as we have done in this season from beginning to end," Marta said, as she began to hold back tears. If this is Marta's final season in Orlando, she'll be able to go out on top with a lasting legacy but first, there's another trophy in her sights to close out this season on the highest note possible.
As businesses strive to stay ahead in today's fast-paced digital world, cloud migration has become a critical component of their strategy. The shift from traditional on-premises systems to cloud environments represents a significant turning point for organisations, enabling them to operate more efficiently, innovate more quickly, and connect with customers in new and meaningful ways. However, for many companies, the journey to the cloud is complicated by outdated legacy systems that can hold them back from achieving their full potential. Legacy systems, though reliable, can be a significant roadblock to growth and agility. Organisations need help responding quickly to changing market conditions, which can limit their ability to take advantage of new opportunities. That's why modernising legacy systems is so critical. It's not just about keeping up with the competition—it's about positioning your business for long-term success. By transitioning to cloud-based architectures, companies can streamline processes, boost performance, and unlock cost efficiencies that drive growth and innovation. Modern Solutions In Legacy Systems Migrating legacy systems to cloud environments involves several vital challenges, starting with compatibility issues. "Legacy systems are often not designed to integrate easily with modern cloud infrastructure," explains Sandeep Guduru, a trusted advisor and leader in the IT industry, emphasising the need to assess and refactor code to support cloud-native features. Containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes can help break down monolithic structures into microservices, enabling a smoother and incremental migration. Data migration and security are also critical; adopting phased migration strategies, encryption, and secure transmission protocols helps maintain data integrity and protect information during transit. Minimising downtime and ensuring business continuity are equally important. Blue-green deployment strategies prove... Mike MaloneThe pain of Musa is going to stay with me forever: Saad Qureshi
